2 Timothy

Chapter 3

  1. This short Chapter is packed with wisdom and relevance. Interesting that 2000 years ago, they were concerned about "the last days". We are no doubt in the last days just as they were, "For with God a thousand years is as a day and a day as a thousand years". This is a great Chapter to really do some soul searching and comparing with Paul's description of those who "oppose the truth".

What do you suppose Paul is trying to convey in v. 5?

  2. I think he was trying to convey someone we all struggle not to be- a person who worship things of this world, yet claims to lord over their own lives. It reminds me of fusco's sermon not too long ago in which he made the statement that everyone worships a god, whether it is money, idols etc. our secular society claims they control their own fatedesting with respect to hpw their lives unfold because they deny that there exists a God, yet their lives still bend to whatever it is they worshp.
