"You search the Scriptures, for in them you think you have eternal life; and these are they which testify of Me." (John 5:39).

September 25 - Romans 5

  1. In this chapter Paul explains the plight of the human race. We are enemies of God, dead in our sins, condemned by the law, and yet "...while we were still sinners, Christ died for us." We are destitute and damned in and of ourselves but through Jesus Christ we are at peace with God. I think chapter 2 of "Radical" conveyed this quite well; God came down from the mountain. God's grace is amazing!

    1. I think (Karyn) that this reminds me how much Jesus loves me even when I do things that are displeasing to the Lord. I often take this for granted and just live how I want to. To think even when I do that Jesus still loves me and shows His grace. That is AMAZING!!! No wonder someone wrote a song about His grace!! I sometimes think I need to be out there telling all of of my non believing friends about Jesus and then I think that just by showing them my unconditional love for them will lead me to the an opportunity someday. My natural instinct is I get nervous and I do not know what to say??? What do you think?

    2. I always think about what I am hoping to achieve, or what God is hoping to achieve in those situations. If I go around handing out Jesus loves me bumper stickers etc. I'm probably not going to gain a following, or lead anyone to Christ. But if I can thrive and display true joy in my life regardless of circumstance, that's something people see and they want it too. That's when I think (and pray) that God will put the right words in my mouth. Then again, I listen to Josiah (our son) tell his friends when they're scared that they don't have to be scared because Jesus is with them all the time. He's 4 years old.
