Joshua 1:8

"...[B]ut you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success." (Joshua 1:8).

"You search the Scriptures, for in them you think you have eternal life; and these are they which testify of Me." (John 5:39).

"And you will seek Me and find Me, when you search for Me with all your heart." (Jeremiah 29:13).

Micah 6:6-8

With what shall I come before
the Lord,
and bow myself before God
on high?
Shall I come before him with
burnt offerings,
with calves a year old?
Will the Lord be pleased with
thousands of rams,
with ten thousands of rivers of oil?
Shall I give my firstborn for my
transgression,
the fruit of my body for the sin of
my soul?

He has told you, O mortal, what
is good;
and what does the Lord require of
you
but to do justice, and to love kindness,
and to walk humbly with
your God?

  1. Thanks for posting this. This is one to dwell on for a long time. And thanks also for the quote from DB on the side of the page. I need to remember this. This actually makes me want to open a Bible again. :)

  2. I'm glad it got you thinking! This portion of scripture is widely regarded as a summary of the Old Testament: to do justice, to love kindness (mercy), and to walk humbly with your God. If you keep this in mind when reading any part of the Old Testament, it will open your eyes.
