Joshua 1:8
"...[B]ut you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success." (Joshua 1:8).
"You search the Scriptures, for in them you think you have eternal life; and these are they which testify of Me." (John 5:39).
"And you will seek Me and find Me, when you search for Me with all your heart." (Jeremiah 29:13).
The imperishable gifts: faith, hope, love, "[B]ut the greatest of these is love."
ReplyDeleteI love the end of this Chapter: "But when that which is perfect has come, then that which is in part will be done away," and "For now we see in a mirror, dimly, but then face to face. Now I know in part, but then I shall know just as I also am known." (verses 10 and 12). This reminds me of C.S. Lewis' children story, The Last Battle, in which he describes the coming reality as crystal clear and as an onion with infinite layers. Never boring. As a book where every chapter is better than the previous.
The knowledge and wisdom that God imparts to me as I seek, learn, grow is both amazing and exciting, but so much more is the thought that I will one day "know just as I also am known." The implications of that statement is mind boggling!
Amen!! :)
